This is a heavy duty 1/4" thick solid
stainless steel antenna
bracket intended to be mounted to the tire carrier of the 2007-2012
Jeep Wrangler. The bracket is constructed of stainless steel, and
although more expensive to manufacture, it is an excellent conductor
and doesn't require powder-coating. Powder-coated brackets
MUST
be sanded or ground down to make electrical contact at both the bracket
mounting location AND the antenna mount locations. A
stainless
steel bracket is ready to be used without modifications.
This bracket also includes two
custom-manufactured aluminum
spacers as well as stainless steel bolts and washers for mounting.
Simply remove two bolts from your Jeep's tire carrier and
replace
them with the stainless hardware provided.
This mount has the added design benefit of
being able to be
mounted to either the left or right side of the tire carrier.
More and more people are elcting to run multiple antennas
(one
for CB and one for Ham, for example) and so the Cool Tech GateMount was
designed to accomodate this. In addition, the mount can be
installed in either a "down" or "up" orientation. In the
"down" orientation, the antenna height is reduced 7.5" .
Choose the side and orientation that is best for you.
Other mounts give you a single side/orientation which may or
may not provide the ideal location for your needs.
