Ford GT Tow Strap

The challenge with the OEM front tow eye is that it is recessed into the nose of the GT and it is immediately adjacent to painted panels including the painted GT nose (above) and the driver's side faux duct piece (side). As such, whenever a hook and cable is connected to the removable OEM tow eye, there is significant risk that one or more painted panels may be scratched - by either the hook or the cable. For GT owners who frequently load their GTs into trailers using a winch, they will immediately understand this problem. For owners who one day or another may require a tow, it will likely be a bad time to discover this issue.

The new Cool Tech LLC GT Tow Strap V2 solves this problem. We have integrated a heavy-duty 20" tow strap with an all stainless steel D-Ring with a 12,000 lb breaking strength. This allows you to connect your OEM towing hook to the strap way out in front of the GT - mitigating any chances of coming into contact with the GT's painted body surfaces. The heavy duty tow strap has a breaking strength of over 10,000 lbs and a working load limit of 3,000 lbs. This means that you could almost dangle the car in the air before breaking the strap!

This is a wise investment for all GT owners who want to do everything possible to mitigate damage to the GT. We would recommend that every car should have one and simply fold and store it up in the front compartment (where the OEM eye is stored today).
